PriceMux

Compatibility with other apps

Do I need PriceMux if I already use another app?

How PriceMux works alongside shipping-rate apps, wholesale/B2B apps, Shopify Markets, and Shopify Functions.

Updated June 9, 2026

PriceMux changes the price every shopper sees on your online store — set by product weight, vendor, tag, collection, or specific product — and then removes the shipping at the register so in-store customers pay your base price. The apps below do different jobs, so for most of them the answer is “keep both,” not “switch.”

Each answer is based on what the other app actually does, not its marketing.

Advanced Shipping Rules

Q: I already use Advanced Shipping Rules — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Usually not — they work on different parts of checkout. Advanced Shipping Rules sets the shipping rates a customer sees at the checkout’s shipping step, based on things like postal code, SKU, tag, weight, or dimensions. It doesn’t change the product price shown while people are browsing, and it doesn’t touch your register prices. PriceMux changes the product price itself — by weight, collection, tag, or product — and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: Advanced Shipping Rules for special shipping cases like oversize or remote zones, PriceMux for the everyday shipping-included price.

Intuitive Shipping

Q: I already use Intuitive Shipping — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Usually not — Intuitive Shipping calculates shipping rates at checkout, not product prices. It works out shipping options from conditions like customer tag, collection, time of day, postal code, distance, weight, and box size. It doesn’t change the price on your product pages, doesn’t touch register prices, and doesn’t do rounding, minimum-price floors, or scheduled price changes. PriceMux changes the product price by rule and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: PriceMux for the shipping-included product price, Intuitive Shipping for freight, oversize, or international rates that don’t fit a simple per-weight amount.

Zapiet — Pickup + Delivery

Q: I already use Zapiet — Pickup + Delivery — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes, if shipping-included pricing matters to you — the two do different jobs. Zapiet handles pickup and delivery: in-store pickup, local delivery, time slots, location choice, and keeping fulfillment in sync with your POS. It can set delivery and pickup rates at checkout, but it doesn’t change the product price shown on your store, and it doesn’t change a product’s price at the register. PriceMux sets the product price by weight and other rules, and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: Zapiet handles “when and where” (pickup and delivery), PriceMux handles “what it costs” online and at the register.

Custom Pricing: Wholesale B2B (Bold)

Q: I already use Custom Pricing: Wholesale B2B — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes, if pricing for shoppers who aren’t logged in matters — Bold’s prices only show after login. Bold Custom Pricing gives logged-in, tagged customers a percentage or fixed price, storewide or per collection, product, or product option, including volume breaks. A shopper has to be logged in with a matching tag to see any of it; everyone else sees your normal retail price. PriceMux changes the price every shopper sees, by product rule, and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: Bold for your tagged wholesale or VIP buyers, PriceMux for the normal retail price everyone else sees.

Wholesale Gorilla

Q: I already use Wholesale Gorilla — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes, if you also need pricing rules for shoppers who aren’t logged in. Wholesale Gorilla adds a B2B experience to a single Shopify store: tagged, logged-in customers see wholesale prices, with order minimums, volume breaks, wholesale-only shipping, net terms, signup forms, and list-price-vs-wholesale display. Shoppers who aren’t logged in see your normal retail price — the app doesn’t change prices for them, and it doesn’t remove shipping at the register. PriceMux sets the retail price every shopper sees, by product rule, and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: Wholesale Gorilla for your tagged B2B accounts, PriceMux for the public retail price. When a wholesale customer logs in, Wholesale Gorilla’s price takes over for that visit.

Shopify Markets

Q: I already use Shopify Markets — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes, if your pricing changes by product rather than only by country. Shopify Markets works on the region side: setting up regional markets (currency, language, domain, catalog) is free on every plan, and within a market you can apply an overall percentage change plus fixed-price overrides. Per-market catalog pricing is now available on Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus (doing it on POS also needs POS Pro); shops that had per-market product pricing or theme changes in place on or before April 25, 2025 keep the older access. Markets can’t price by weight, collection, tag, or product on its own, can’t include shipping in the displayed price, and can’t remove an amount at the register. Keep both: Markets for the currency-and-country side, PriceMux for the by-product side within a market.

Shopify B2B Catalogs

Q: I already use Shopify B2B catalogs — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes, if pricing for regular retail shoppers matters — B2B catalogs only apply to logged-in Company accounts. B2B catalogs are built in on Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus, with up to 3 active B2B catalogs on Basic, Grow, and Advanced, and unlimited on Plus. Assigning catalogs directly to a company or company location, plus deposits, partial payments, and per-fulfillment payment requests, are Plus-only. Only logged-in B2B Company customers ever see catalog pricing — regular retail shoppers never do. Catalogs use fixed prices or one flat adjustment, not rules based on weight, and they don’t touch register prices or shipping. Keep both: B2B catalogs for your Company-account buyers, PriceMux for the price your everyday retail shoppers see — shipping included online, removed at the register.

Shopify Functions — Cart Transform API

Q: I already use Shopify Functions — Cart Transform API — do I also need PriceMux?

A: Yes — and on most plans Cart Transform can’t do this job at all. Cart Transform changes line items inside the cart (combining, expanding, or adjusting them). Its price-change feature is limited to Shopify Plus (and development stores), and it isn’t fully supported at the register. It also doesn’t change the price shown on your product or collection pages. PriceMux changes the price a shopper sees before the cart, works on Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus, and removes the shipping at the register. Keep both: on Plus, Cart Transform for real product bundles, PriceMux for product pricing and the register side.

Still not sure?

If you use an app that isn’t listed here and you’re trying to figure out whether PriceMux overlaps with it, the answer is almost always one of these three:

  • It sets shipping rates at checkout (not product prices) — no overlap. Keep both.
  • It only changes prices for logged-in or tagged customers — no overlap. PriceMux handles the price everyone else sees.
  • It changes prices by country or region — it works alongside PriceMux, which prices by product inside each region.
